Hi, my name Rubert.
Looking back on my younger days, I would say the couch and the television were mightier than the pen for me. Today with a computer, dictionary, pen, tutor and my cooperation we are mightier than the couch and television.
In 2004 I was in my late forties and I didn’t know how to read more than two and three letter word; even those words were hard for me. I didn’t even know anything about computer. I would like to show the people that they are not the only ones out there that can’t read and write. Remember always keep an open mind about mistakes – that is why they put rubbers on the end of pencils.
The first website I started was in yahoo groups. I could only get up to 2000 characters inside it. The second website I built was in freeweb.com; it gave me unlimited characters to use. It let me choose my own templates and tools to work with. My third website is www.rubertsleapinreading.com from godaddy.com I picked the templates myself, but I have to pay for the domain name “rubertsleapinreading.com.”
When I work on my website, first I do it on my own then I will ask for help. Before I put it in my website I have it proofread first by my tutor or friends. I am not going to lie to you, it wasn’t easy building those sites for me, but I did it with hard work and help from friends.
My website is to help other people that have trouble reading and writing. It may give them the courage to start their own free blog or website.
